Our team of dedicated and professional early childhood educators is committed to supporting each child as an individual in their learning and development journey. Our team is highly qualified with Bachelor and Diploma trained early childhood educators running all programs. Some of our staff members have worked at Dame Nellie Melba Kindergarten over 10 years.

Adam

Adam commenced teaching in 2004 after completing a Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood. His interest in working with young children began in Japan where he spent time teaching English.

Adam has now been at DNMK for over 10 years. He adores the community spirit of this kinder and the Richmond area. The outdoor space is a special place for him.  It is both the background and the focus of daily learning.

He has 2 young children.

Sandra
Educator 4-year-old Rainbow Lorikeet (Monday & Wednesday)

Sandra moved to Australia from Mexico in 2012. She holds a Diploma of Children’s Services and has been part of the DNMK team since 2016. Sandra enjoys crafting with the children and supporting their developing independence. Sharing her language and culture via Spanish cooking experiences enhances the children’s understanding of various cultures.

HANNAH

Hannah has been working with children for over ten years and started as an Educator at DNMK in 2018. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Hannah is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments that encourage children to challenge themselves, and is also passionate about nature and nature-based learning.

Georgi
Educational leader & Teacher 4-year-old Currawong (Tuesday and Thursday) Group

MORE ABOUT ME

Georgi completed a Bachelor of early Childhood Education in 2011 and have been teaching at DNMK since 2016. She is passionate about supporting children to discover the joy in learning and providing them the opportunity to find their own strengths and interests. In particular Georgi enjoys encouraging children’s sense of citizenship and their ability to contribute to the world around them. Building strong relationships with families is key to supporting children through these magical years before school, and she feels privileged every year to share this journey with the children and families.

Alba
Educator 4-year-old Currawong (Tuesday & Thursday) Group

MORE ABOUT ME

Alba competed her Certificate 3 in Children’s Services in 2016 and joined the DNMK team in 2017. She also teaches Yoga and am passionate about supporting children to develop socially and emotionally. It is a great joy to spend time with the children at DNMK and help them learn and grow.

Andrea
Teacher 3-year-old Honeyeater (Monday & Wednesday) Group

Andrea has been teaching in early childhood for the past 6 years, finishing her Master of Education in 2012 and joining DNMK in 2017.
She shares a passion for nature-based education, yoga, dance and movement, music, storytelling, bush walking, hiking and spending time at Ceres.
She recently completed a forest school training course in California! Andrea is proud to be associated with a strong, community minded, sustainable kindergarten such as Dame Nellie Melba.

JO

Jo has been at DNMK for past 12 years, with experience across both the 3 and 4-year-old streams.She holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and is passionate about the kinder community and engaging with the children and their families.Jo brings a nurturing quality which is so important in helping children become self-assured and confident. Jo enjoys fostering children’s dramatic play and connecting with children through shared stories.

Jackie
Teacher 3-year-old Kookaburra (Tuesday & Thursday) Group

MORE ABOUT ME

Jackie joined the DNMK team in 2017 and holds a Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Counselling. Via brief exposure in the child protection field she became interested in working within early childhood settings.
Jackie aims to have a program which is fun, engaging and motivating.Dance classes and yoga are incorporated into sessions to encourage free expression.

Katherine
Educator 3-year-old Kookaburra (Tuesday & Thursday) Group

MORE ABOUT ME

Katherine started her career in business marketing which lead her to adult learning and development in this field. After travelling to China and Vietnam with her husband’s work, she took a wonderful opportunity to explore early childhood within a Reggio Emilia based international school.The strength and impact of working with children was fulfilling especially promoting children’s independence and seeing the progression through a year. She is now studying her Bachelor in Early Childhood.

Dominique

Dominique has had an association with DNMK for over 12 years with her children attending in 2006.
She has worked with the DNMK family for over 4 years and holds a Bachelor in Early Childhood. Dominique values the community connections, wonderful setting and the opportunities we can provide the children here in Richmond.

Jacqui

After a part-time job in a childcare service Jacqui completed her Diploma in Early Childhood. She worked for the City of Stonnington for 10 years. She enjoyed watching the children face challenges, develop and also working closely with families. After having her own children Jacqui worked at St Justin’s Primary School is assisting children with developmental needs and behavioural issues. She found spending one on one time with these struggling children satisfying. She is now back into early childhood and loving DNMK.

Nilmini completed her Diploma in Early Childhood in 2017 and holds an AMI Montessori Diploma (3 – 6 year olds) from the Australian Centre for Montessori Studies (2015).She is currently undertaking a Bachelor in Early Childhood with Swinburne University.Experience has taught me that every child is unique and that they all need a secure, stimulating and caring environment for a wholesome development.It is my desire to guide them by harnessing their natural curiosity for learning.

Tiana

Tiana relocated to Australia from France where she
ran a Family Day Care facility for over 10 years.
Initially volunteering at DNMK in 2017 before joining the teaching team in 2018 after completing her Certificate Three is Children’s services.
Tiana enjoys sharing her French background with the children, incorporating language and culture into the program.
Tiana believes all children are ever surprising and we learn something new from them every day.

Emma
Activity Group Leader Wattlebirds Monday and Wednesday

MORE ABOUT ME

Emma’s mother was a kindergarten teacher for the past 17 years. After starting a psychology degree, she found the development side of child psychology really interesting. She began working hands on in a childcare setting and found thoughtful communication with children and relationships with families satisfying. Emma finds the way children think and see the world as quite inspirational. She feels children reminds us as adults of the little things we all too often miss. She loves being a part of children developing and growing.

Gina has assisted in the running of the kinder collaboratively with the Committee of management and Team of Educators since 2007.
Her children graduated from DNMK and she enjoys being part of the Richmond community.
