Our learning spaces

Our kindergarten gives children the inside and outside spaces they need to grow.

Indoor

Our large, light-filled and historic rooms are a wonderful environment for children to play and engage with.

Our classrooms are focused on child-led exploration. The educational teams prepare a range of intentional, play-based activities for the children which reflect children’s curiosities, abilities and interests. Indoor spaces offer a wide range of art experiences, musical exploration, dramatic play, construction, and small world imaginative play.

There is a focus on using natural repurposed materials. A dramatic play space might one week be a rocket ship for exploring, and then a hospital the next.

Outdoor

Our large and natural outdoor spaces celebrate gross motor activity and connections with nature. Partially shaded play spaces offer engagement with vegetable/kitchen gardens, ever-changing and ever-challenging climbing equipment, sandpits, mud kitchens, swings, sporting equipment, outdoor blocks and a range of unique loose construction items – all aiming to promote imagination, autonomous decision making and small group planning and construction. Ultimately this allows children the space to ‘run free’ and get their hands dirty, digging, building and exploring.

Best of all, we are surrounded by nature and share the kinder with birds, possums, spiders, bugs, insects and worms. Being surrounded by nature enables educators to draw children’s attention to the cycles of nature and the interconnectedness between the plants and creatures in the garden.
