DNMK has a new visual identity

During committee meetings last year we identified several opportunities to explore how our communications with the broader community reflected what we know and love about the kindergarten. Central to this thinking was the importance of celebrating our heritage as a long standing institution for Richmond and its families.

Many people have invested their time considering what defines and what is unique about DNMK. This has been a process led by your committee in conjunction with the educators who, day to day, embody the kindergarten’s culture.

Our new logo is designed to reflect and represent our kindergarten philosophy, which is built on three main pillars:

  • A three-way partnership: children, their families and educators
  • A holistic view of learning and development
  • An appreciation of nature as a foundation for learning and practice

The process has offered an opportunity to reflect upon what we value at DNMK and to affirm our connection with nature through both our curriculum and our wonderful city oasis. Shifting our focus from children that were the feature of our previous image towards nature offers a clear engagement with what makes us unique in the area. The leaves represent our outdoor space; the bird an embodiment of our sessional based class names and the colours a reflection of nature.

We hope you like our new look and feel and welcome your comments.
